the First Ever Pacific NW Mushroom Festival a Huge Success!

OK Dorothy.... open your eyes... we're not in Kansas anymore! We knew when HP Rotary was approached with the idea of promoting a Mushroom Festival, that it was a huge undertaking.. but one that we were ready for.....

They say that Luck is when Preparedness and Opportunity Meet, and I would have to say that this was definitely the case for the Mushroom Festival. Over 10,000 people came to check out this Mushroom Festival, and despite a few First Year wrinkles, overall it was tremendously succesful! The inspriation for this event, "Oyster Fest" promoted by the Skookum Club, let us see that there could be a lot of potential $$$ in an activity of this sort. This year's event was a great volunteer activity for HP Rotary, touching almost all of us and our families(I know I saw lots of wives and kids helping out) It tested our metal , as far as patience with each other was concerned, but when the going got tough... HP Rotarians got going! Next year's event(Mush Fest II) is already in the planning stages, and will happen June 27th and 28th, 2009. SAVE THE DATE@! We'll need your strong arm that we talk about in our membership ceremony.....
