North Thurston Public Schools Mentor Program
Want to be a Mentor to a student in North Thurston Public Schools? Courtney Schrieve will tell you what is involved and how you can make a huge difference in the life of a child for just one hour a week. Mentors help students with decision-making, goal setting, social awareness, and relationship skills. Lunch Buddies play games, do arts and crafts, and have fun! “It’s a great investment of your time, energy and experience to be a role model and friend to a student,” said Schrieve, the mentor liaison for the district and a mentor herself. “Sadly, 1 in 3 young people will grow up without a mentor. We desperately need more mentors, especially men and members of the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) community.” See more mentor opportunities here.
