Mic McDaniel from Tacoma South Rotary will speak on Friday, February 3rd at noon at the lower clubhouse.  Mic will speak to us about providing clean water via BioSand Water Filters in North India and we will expect to him plead for funds for his projects. Mic at age 23 and his college girlfriend Dona at 19 got a couple of witnesses and ran across the state line to get married in 1968.  It must have worked okay because; Mic & Dona are still married 54 years later!
After their 2 boys were out of school (1993) and on their own, they moved to the Czech Republic and
joined an international non-profit organization by the name of Operation Mobilization.  They worked in
the Czech Republic for 7 years and were transferred back to the States in the year 2000 with the same
organization where Mic served as the Northwest Regional Director.
Then Mic & Dona founded a non-profit, 501c3 organization which they named “Global Helps Network”.
In 2009, Mic traveled to India and began making connections. In 2010 Mic met Dave Harkness, the President of Tacoma South Rotary on the racquetball court and he invited Mic to join Rotary, which he did that same year.
Mic became the President of that club in 2013, he also became the Grant Writer for the Tacoma South
club and has completed more than a dozen here locally and internationally. Mic &; Dona have two boys,  7 grandkids, and 2 great-grandkids.
