Last Week In Rotary!
At the all club assembly, it was all about the Mushroom Festival!  Due to some unforeseen circumstances, we had to move the meeting to the upper club house, but that didn't stop us from getting down to business.  First off Corey went through all the great things that happened with the festival this year.  Every facet of this festival seemed to be a success.  In the end the festival brought in a whopping 28,000 dollars!  Great Job Corey for putting this whole event together and making it a huge success!
After Corey was done, Bob Kagy had the floor, for the 10th annual Pacific Northwest Mushroom Festival Bob Kagy and Randy Luke will be the chairs (hey sometimes we all need a break, and no one better than the guys who helped start the whole festival) Bob did give some very interesting statistics about the people attending our festival, it turns out we have people from 28 different states making their way to Lacey to partake in all of our festivities.  We each had a chance to give comment about the festival.  One resounding message was that yes the festival is hard work and yes we want to continue doing it.

HAWKS PRAIRIE ROTARY welcomes back Charter Member Terry Taylor
A not so new face you will be seeing at our events is Terry Taylor!  Terry is a returning Hawks Prairie Rotarian Charter Member of the club!  She has lived in Olympia since 1957 when her dad was stationed at Fort Lewis upon his return from Ethiopia (sounds like an interesting story!!).  She went to North Thurston, then Timberline High Schools, then worked for the state for 20+ years!  She took a break from work and went on to become a Goeduck graduating with a Masters in Organizational Psychology from Antioch University.  Terry is now an executive coach and business consultant with her now business Versoria.  Her family is scattered across Yakima Valley, Indiana, and Pennsylvania.  She has 2 adorable grandkids named Taylor and Kroy that she loves to pieces.  She also loves to cook, garden, bicycle, walk, and travel! Please welcome Terry back when you see her!!!

Military Family Support Day Through The Years!
One of the great events that our club puts on is the Military Family Day.  For 14 years we have supported our community and soldiers stationed throughout the world with this event. I remember when we used to march down Martin Way, I walked with my family.  At the time,  my brother-in- law was stationed in Iraq.  Our family put on his units colors and marched with pride thinking of him.  Not only was our club able to support quite a few local charities with this event. We also supported our troops, whether stationed here, or in places like Iraq and Afghanistan.  To me, this has made this event all the more worthwhile!  We have taken so many photos of these events, I thought it would be great to share them!
