Military March 05 a Huge Success!

If you're a Hawk's Prairie Rotarian, don't get all puffed up yet, however, Military Family Support March 05 is going to be a tough act to follow! It all started with a benefit concert provided by Chris Ward(Lacey PD's Singing Detective!) and the Chris Ward Band ever so eloquently introduced by Sean Murray of Mixx 96.1
then , Susan West of Q-13 Fox News fame introduce Congressman Adam Smith who had a few brief words, and then she introduced our honorary Grand Marshal's Wow! Plus we had a helicopter flyover by Thurston Co. Sherriff's Dept. Search and Rescue team, and a host of activities. I knew this was going to be a big deal, when I saw Virgil Clarkson Mayor of Lacey there, along with Dick Pust of KGY, and a hundred other notable dignitaries there. The money is still coming in, and preliminarily, it looks like we will have raised more money than the first two marches combined! Wow! Hat's off to Hawk's Prairie Rotary's treasurer Dave Cherry(Venture Bank) for doing a wonderful job of accounting of funds.... always there, and always with the current totals. Another tough act to follow. Al Eckroth(Virgil Adams Real Estate) , who has been the inspiration for the March and committee chair, is stepping down after performing the Herculean task of getting this March started, is going out with a bang! I personally saw KOMO TV 4's exceptional coverage of this event on their evening news. Great Publicity! Andrew Osckewicz(Virgil Adams Real Estate) is to be commended for his PR effort. Marv Kopp(Edward Jones) for securing sponsorship, and making sure that the posters and brochures got out to the public. Many other Hawk's Prairie Rotarians were deeply involved in this event, and I'm sure will receive the recoginition that they deserve. All in all, if you're a member of this club, you should be proud! Proud of how well the event came off, and proud of all the people that we'll be able to help along the way!
